Open Positions

After opening a position (e.g., BNB/USDT), you can manage and monitor it using the Open Positions tab. This section provides step-by-step guidance to locate and understand all the features of the Open Positions tab.

Step 1: Locate the Open Positions Tab

  • Once you’ve opened a position, scroll down on the trading page to find the Open Positions tab.

  • It displays all active positions with detailed information.

Step 2: Columns and What They Mean

  1. Contract:

    • This shows the trading pair for your open position (e.g., BNB/USDT).

    • The L or S next to the pair indicates if the position is Long or Short.

    • How to Change Leverage:

      • Click the pencil/edit icon next to the leverage (e.g., 10x).

      • Adjust the leverage slider or input a new leverage value.

      • Confirm to apply the changes.

  2. Volume:

    • Displays the total value of your position in USDT (e.g., 9,999.94 USDT).

    • This value is the size of your trade, including leverage.

  3. Quantity:

    • Shows the number of units of the base asset you are trading (e.g., 15.2881 BNB).

    • Calculated based on the volume, entry price, and leverage.

  4. Entry Price:

    • This is the price at which your position was opened (e.g., 654.1 USDT per BNB).

    • It remains fixed unless you adjust the position by adding more margin.

  5. Mark Price:

    • The current market price of the asset (e.g., 654 USDT per BNB).

    • Determines the unrealized profit and loss (P&L).

  6. Margin:

    • The amount of your own capital allocated to this position (e.g., 999.99 USDT).

    • How to Adjust Margin:

      • Click the pencil/edit icon in the Margin column.

      • Add or remove margin to increase or decrease the risk and liquidation price.

  7. P&L (UR):

    • Shows the Unrealized Profit and Loss in real-time (e.g., -1.52 USDT).

    • Positive values mean profit, and negative values mean loss.

  8. Liq Price:

    • The Liquidation Price is the price at which your position will be forcefully closed if losses consume your margin.

    • Adjusting leverage or margin affects this value.

  9. TP/SL:

    • Indicates if you’ve set Take Profit (TP) or Stop Loss (SL) values for the position.

    • How to Add or Edit TP/SL:

      • Click the pencil/edit icon in this column.

      • Enter new TP/SL levels or adjust existing ones.

      • Confirm to save the changes.

  10. EP/EL:

    • Indicates if you’ve set Estimated Profit (EP) or Estimated Loss (EL) thresholds in USDT.

    • How to Add or Edit EP/EL:

      • Click the pencil/edit icon in this column.

      • Enter the desired profit/loss values in USDT.

      • Confirm to save the changes.

  11. Action:

    • Provides tools to manage or close your position:

      • Close Position: Click the "X" button to close the position immediately.

      • Hedge Position (for Cross or Max margin mode):

        • Click the hedge icon to open an equal-sized position in the opposite direction (e.g., a Short position if you’re currently Long).

        • This locks the unrealized P&L, effectively pausing the trade until you manually adjust.

Step 3: Managing Your Position

  • Monitoring:

    • Regularly check the P&L (UR), Liq Price, and Mark Price columns to track the performance of your position.

  • Adjusting:

    • Use the TP/SL or EP/EL columns to automate profit-taking or loss-limiting strategies.

    • Modify leverage or margin based on market conditions.
